DO NEXT EVENT AT - - -

Postby maxquad » Tue Apr 05, 2005 12:19 am

Is there any way or is there a plug in that will:

a) Allow me to 'DO NEXT EVENT AT' a certain time (like an ID at the top of the hour). For instance, no matter where a song is, if the DO NEXT EVENT line is in the list, it'll fade the track and play the next source (an ID in this instance).

Example:

Song - Song Title
DO NEXT EVENT AT 00:59:50 - - - -
STATION ID (:10)

b) Load up another playlist at the end of an existing playlist?

Thanks,

Matt

Yes, it's called the Pro version of DRS

DRS v2.11 pro comes with "AutoPlay Manager", this will load playlists, or change shuffles and handle up to 12 events each hour which can be "Exact" or "On Cue". They can be top of hour ID's at an exact time or some other event to happen when the record finishes after a given time. You can play single files or mini play lists.

Well, that sucks. . .

Hmmm, that's what I figured. Too bad I don't have the $599 (or whatever the cost is) to purchase the so called 'pro' version.

Ah, well. .

Disappointed,

Matt,
By any chance did you ever use any of the automation systems from IGM in the 80's? Their software had a command called exactly "DO NEXT EVENT AT...".

DO NEXT EVENT AT. . .

Dave,

Heeh, yeap! Wasn't the 80s, but it was the early 90s til about 1999.
The first station I ever worked for had an IGM system with three carousels, three single play cart decks and a bank of satellite receivers. The computer was an PC 286 clone running DOS. The 'DO NEXT EVENT' was handy when a satellite network didn't send top of the hour automation tones or was late in getting to the tone. . .

Now, how to get $549 dollars. . . :( ??

*sigh*

It's a bit late, but I just read your note about the PRO version.
I, too, was looking at the $549 price tag, but was pleasanly surprised to find a special price if you use the upgrade to the PRO version.
You will not pay the full $549. I don't remember what the price was, but it is an upgrade price. I believe it is at least minus the price of the Standard version. Call or email sales, and they'll help you.

Hope this helps.

Good luck!
