DRS 2006 Version 2.2 for Vista and XP

Postby DRS 2006 - Mark » Tue Dec 04, 2007 7:04 pm

Hi guys,

today and tomorrow we will release first betas of Version 2.2 for Windows Vista and XP right here in this thread. The passwords are the same as for Version 3. If you do not have any passwords please contact our help desk with your name and key (do not post any passwords or keys here!!!)

1. DRS 2006 Demo Package 2.2 (Final) - Free Download here

2. DRS 2006 Standard Package 2.2 (Final)
Please contact hour DRS 2006 Help Desk to send us your name and reg key. We will then send you password and location for this release.

3. DRS 2006 Professional Package 2.2 (Final)
Please contact hour DRS 2006 Help Desk to send us your name and reg key. We will then send you password and location for this release.

We ask you to test these Betas on XP and Vista and to tell us if there any bugs left. You can post them right in this thread.

Here are some facts we do not need to discuss:
1. 2.2 is almost the same as 2.11 except that it also works for Vista.
2. Altough there is not much changed, the Windows Media Interface fixed the "variable bitrate problem".
3. The broadcast processor currently does not work with this version 2.2 anymore. It only works on Windows XP with 2.11.
4. Other Windows Media plugins might work good.

We plan to let you test a week or two to get out all bugs before we release this and then we will make a few smaller changes on the website (updated info for 2.2). After that we will finish 3.0 as soon as possible and we will bring out updates very frequently.

Update Beta 2
We have found the solution for "Exception Processing Message Oxc000007b Parameters 0x7656023C 0x7656023C 0x7656023C 0x7656023C". Beta 2 should now work for most Vista PCs. Spacialaudio is still working on the error message from the broadcaster, but it will also be here soon. Merry XMAS!

Update Beta 3
Hey guys. This Package includes the brand new DRS 2006 Internet Broadcaster 2.6.0. The bug with the reg key is fixed and it also contains the newest encoder and stats relay versions.
There is a known bug in all On Air Studios. In these modules the aritsts and titles are not displayed properly. We will fix this over the weekend and release Beta 4 which should be close to the final version.

Update Beta 4
Here are the fixed Packages. All in stream data should be working now. We also optimized the database memory usage, so you should not get any BDE errors anymore on Vista. We are pretty close now. We wish you a happy new year!!

Update Beta 5
In beta 5 we opmtimized the audio manager and also added new demo audio files. Beside that we have done a few more small fixes. This should now be very very close to the release.

Update Beta 6
A few minor fixes in the Playlist Editor, V-Cart, On Air DJ and On Air Radio Studio. The " is not a valid integer value" error should be gone after creating a new playlist.

Update Beta 7
This version should fix a short cut problem in the main menu for some users. THX Alex!!

Update Finals - all Packages
We released the the final versions of all packages. Till the release of Version 3 we will have 2 different version for XP and Vista. If you find any bug, please still contact us.

THX for all your support....

Everything's looking stable in the XP Environment. I will bring up a Vista Business environment over the weekend and we'll see how that runs.

Hehe, this is very funny. We have far over 1000 emails from people asking for a Vista version. Well maybe they have not seen it yet ;-)

All our test are very stable till now. On all systems.

I am afraid most of these people ment V3 on Vista :)

Sorry, I am not running V2 or Vista, so I am not testing.

We are testing it now on a Windows Ultimate version.

What is a good audio plugin to use I have used DFX Audio Enhancer But it doesn't work verry good.

The DB audioware plugin that you can use with version 2.1 is much much better. Will audioware make a version for 2.2 and 3.0???

Did find an error with the On Air Editor, It was looking for Commeditor.dbf, and Currentplaylist.dbf, ETC, but It created the files as Í was writing a email about the errors! So that pretty much fixes itself, the only issue I seem too get is...

"An error occurred while attempting to intialize the borland Database engine (error $210D)",

I get this while starting, Audio Manager or On-Air Editor, when an On-Air modual is running, IE. On Air Radio Studio or On Air Radio Dj, If nothing is running the programs start fine on their own.

Otherwise, very stable, and as quick as it was on XP!

Good Job Mark and Drs Team :)

Perhaps quick email to all the DRS users about this release would get more people testing.

Hi,

the database error you are getting is about settings in the registry. Can you try to use the registry ptach of Version 3? THX

WebKit

Postby Hit Music Radio » Mon Dec 10, 2007 5:35 pm

What I find is that the webcast kit says that there is an error with the plugin interface when trying to launch with version 2.2 and for some strange reason when in Shuffle Mode it stops randomly until the next hour until it reaches the top of the hour again.

However when I reverted back to 2.11 the shuffle works perfectly and the webcast kit worked with no problems.

Best Wishes,

Here's something scary....

I was in the OADJ module and I went under plugins setup and then went to Windows DSP plugins. it brought up the quick menu for WMP, which is the underlying interface. The scary thing was if Player 1 is active, you can manipulate it through that quick menu (Play/Pause, stop, playback speed, you name it, it'll do it. Also if you go to full screen, it will show the actual WMP so you can really mess with it that way. Just thought i'd pass on what i found out.
