well lets see...

I bought DRS2006 v2 about 8 years ago with an urging that "v3 will be out next week!" and if I bought it now, I would get v3 for free. And here we are in 2011 and it is still nowhere near release.

So I think there is no news and the chances of seeing v3 before 3006 are very slim.

Still does not do events, a basic requierment for automation.

The only updates have been to get v3 to run under Vista and then, Windows 7. Yes we missed out on a whole Windows version , this has been going on so long.

So we left DRS for New Zealand 6 years ago and it works. The spec for V3 has been left behind by so many alternatives in the decade this has been "in development".

Windows 8 beta is out so I can only guess that more work will be needed to port v.2 of drs to it :). Only then will v.3 be looked at subject to Windows 9 release schedule and v.2 being upgraded first to work with it...
