Loke many others I have been waiting patiently and gone through several versions of Windows. Although not as active as I was I still do a bot of training and support for those wanting to be involved with radio. I look forward to trying the v4 beta program.
Keep up the good work Mark

Mark

It is good to hear about the exciting new direction for DRS, as well as the excitement you express in your written words. Our station has been using DRS Pro for many years now, and it has served us well. I also look forward to the new beta, and hope there might still be opportunities for us "old" users to Beta Test with the new version.

It will be good to be back more often to the forum.

Best wishes Mark, and I look forward to the progress that lies ahead with the new DRS direction.

Thank you for your update.. I admit I have been a critic in the past... 2.x is no longer a viable solution to me and 3.x well never was finished despite all the promises from 2002-2011... Hopefully 4.x will turn my faith around again..

Yes, I fully understand that many people were not happy with the progress. So weren't we! However now is the time for a totally new DRS 2006 with newest technologies. The first betas will be available soon. However we want to start with 10-15 people testing it before we give out public betas. It will be totally different, but much better than anything you have seen from us yet.

Hi,

the concept will be different now. We will have a basic module which will be around 99$ (not sure yet). With this module you will be able to read in your files, set cues etc, build playlists and go on air, pre-listen, carts and you will be able to encode, so you will be able to start with this basic module right away.

We will additionally offer optional plugins which can be purchased just as you need them. This will include sound processing, scheduling, statistics and much more. These additional plugins will be very low priced and will be released one after the other after the release of the basic package. Of course they will also be updated all the time. Maybe a little like the Apple Store.....

However the main benefit is that we are using totally new technologies. So we have a lightning fast "database" which also works brilliant over the network. Actually is is no real database system anymore, so it won't slow down your system at all. Also the playback engine is is now in our hand and will eliminate all problems of the Windows Media Player. Finally the Encoders are now programmed by ourselves, so there will be no integration problems anymore and no lack of support.

Mark;
Thanks for the reply, looking forward to acquiring the necessary modules that I will need.
Spending all of next week at a radio station in Colchester that uses your DRS pro, so that I can learn with hands on experience. Thanks for all the help. Please let me know when the scheduler is ready to purchase.
