Postby dansspecialblend » Mon Aug 22, 2011 6:35 pm

Hi guys...my stream is up and running, but I don't believe my listeners can access it yet. Help me out. I have a "click here" button on my website that links to the url given to me..rs9.radiostreamer.com etc.. when its clicked, it's going to my stream status page. click listen..nothing happens. What do I need to do? thanks. Dan

Hi Dan,

I am sorry. We were not fast enough to add this section to the new website. However it is now there and a few more things will follow.

The link to your stream is
http://rs9.radiostreamer.com:8040/listen.pls

You can use this link as a text link our together with images. You can also make an asx file to force the Windows Media Player to be used.

Here is the direct to the new section we added yesterday
(How listeners reach your stream):
http://www.radiostreamer.com/help.php#listeners

If you need to know more, feel free to contact us anytime.

Thanks for response guys. I used a newer link with "listen.pls" at end. Still no luck. Is my website the problem? I guess its' a flash website...editor does not allow uploading of metadata files.it can link to specific url...which is what i've been trying. I had a stream up on"loudcaster" for a short time..but that's available by linking to loudcaster, which then can lead visitors to the various station streams. my shout cast stream is rs.4radiostreamer.com/:8040/listen.pls. my web address is" http://www.dansspecialblend.com"I stream just 6 hrs. a day 9am to 3 pm, mountain daylight time, usa. input appreciated...and I'll check out the new information on "getting started". thanks all. dan

It may be something else but there is a type error
you wrote: rs.4radiostreamer.com/:8040/listen.pls

And after reading your mail I came up with
http://rs9.radiostreamer.com:8040/listen.pls

There is a / that should not be there.

Kris..you're right.. good eye...I did have it correct though on the website...I have since found out from my website host...that their equipment does not recognize "pls" files..or the windows "asx" files. I'm pulling out what hair I have left! Whewww dan

Hi Daniel.

this is really just standard. Everybody uses this kind of links and if you visit your admin website at

http://rs9.radiostreamer:8040/

you will see a link on top which shows "listen". You see it is just like the link I postet.

Of course you need to be streaming.

This is our demo stream:
http://rs5.radiostreamer.com:16000/listen.pls

Just be sure you have some player installed which understands pls files. Like Winamp or Itunes.

Your provider does not need to recognize pls files because you are linking directly to us? Or did you upload your own pls file on your website?

Just place exactly this link on your website:
http://rs9.radiostreamer:8040/listen.pls

Of course you need to be streaming.

Don't worry, we will get you going.

Hey everyone...maybe i'll get going yet..encouraging replies from mark. everything is set per marks' latest..minus..www etc. Maybe I have not been able to access..because i've been checking on computers at public libraries which may not allow certain functions..the home computers will..player accessability or such. And I am assuming I can't access from my own computer, as
I've tried...link seems to take me to same place i'm taken with the demo stream..but instead of being able to listen..it says "this is your server". so if it's convenient for someone to listen when I'm streaming..let me know if you can connect or not. again..i'm on air 9 am to 3 pm usa mountain daylight time(two hours earlier than us eastern time). If need be..i could stream audio at a more opportune time for someone to check out. Thanks for patience...hey I'm just the talent..but learning! dan

Can you stream on some other hours?
Lets say for another 24h?
Not sure what your time zone is.
